Friday Funnies: Spooking the Sauropod

Written by Burl on August 6th, 2010

Another of the thumbnail sketches that ran with Edgar Rice Burroughs’ “The Land That Time Forgot” trilogy, as our heroine tosses a stick at a huge Brachiosaurus, to the horror of the easily frightened hero. Another design problem — all the angles direct your eyes toward the stick. The dinosaur’s musculature is laughable — obviously a 1970s image of dinosaurs as big, dumb and slow …

Actually, the first thing I saw was the woman’s butt. I saw the stick only after you mentioned it.

  2. Primo Kimo says:

I can see a film of this with Brad and Jolie.

  3. Mutt says:

I noticed the woman’s legs first, then her everything else. I didn’t notice the stick until you mentioned it.

  4. gigi-hawaii says:

Well, at least the artist made the guy right handed. Did the woman throw with her right hand, too?

  5. Primo Kimo says:

gigi. You need a vocation and an avocation.

  6. Mutt says:

Gigi, the artist is Burl. And lefties are superior. :-)

  7. Mutt says:

Wait … if the guy just threw the stick, then he’s still left-handed. He’s holding the rifle in his right hand, and the stick is still airborne. HA!

  8. Primo Kimo says:

she threw the stick with her right hand His hand would be higher if he threw he stick. he is reaching for her bum. ostensibly to protect it from the dagger, just below. At least that would be my excuse.

  9. Mutt says:

Oops, I read that wrong — the chick tossed the stick. Looks like she did it left-handed, too. Her right hand is low and ready to fend off the hero’s impending clumsy advances.

  10. Primo Kimo says:

the way she’s dressed, she better expect the dude and.. the dino with the dick neck n head to take advantage!
